Beyond Trauma and Brain Injury Survivor Deborah Berry

At barely one years old little Debbie was placed in an orphanage, a year later she nearly died on a world voyage migrating from England to Australia. Before her twelfth birthday she was molested by an old man. Barely into her teens Deborah started to educate abused horses and learned the skills of a horse whisperer. One of the greatest gifts her parents gave her was the world of horses, being involved in charity fundraising and beauty pageants. Unfortunately at 14 Deborah was forced to leave school and find work. This led to her to moving out of an abusive home at 16 to find her way into the world. Deborah quickly discover her talent in modeling, management and advertising.

At 19, Deborah missed the country lifestyle and horses so she ventured into cattle country to live in the harsh conditions of the Australian outback - mustered cattle, sheep and worked with wild horses. Two years later Deborah married a cattle rancher. At 24 her first born son drowned and died after suffering from brain injury. Five years after healing her broken heart Deborah compiled her life experiences in media, marketing and business. In 1991 she travelled to the United States and focused on her career as a personal manager, publicist and producer for a Las Vegas, Award Winning, Entertainer of the year.

Eleven years later Deborah faced another tragedy after being involved in a car accident. It took her nearly ten years to find her way… after suffering from brain injury, spinal damage and disabilities. The simple tasks like writing, talking and the sensitivity to light, sound and movement was her greatest challenge. Today this remarkable and courageous woman shares how she regained her life back and became a stronger and more powerful woman. The death of a child is one of the toughest and saddest life experiences but to have lived through and mastered a life time of grief, pain and injury is one story you don’t want to miss.
