BIG Magic presents Guru Bhakti Special on BIG Bal Kalakaar this weekend
Mumbai: This week on BIG Bal Kalakaar it’s Guru Bhakti Special episode. The show opens with co-host Rajesh’s rendition of a Doha in praise of Guru Bhakti. The guru-shishya tradition, parampara, denotes a succession of teachers and disciples in traditional Indian culture and religions. It is the tradition of spiritual relationship and mentoring where teachings are transmitted from a guru "teacher" to a shisya "disciple". Such knowledge, whether it is Vedic, architectural, musical or spiritual, is imparted through the growing relationship between the guru and the disciple which is based on the genuineness of the guru, and the respect, commitment, devotion and obedience of the student. The student eventually masters the knowledge that the guru embodies.
Judges Rajan & Sajan Mishra and Jatin Pundit narrated some very interesting and touching stories about their own gurus. In fact Jatin Pundit got emotional while narrating anecdotes on how his guru used to take care of him—feed him, get medicines when he was ill etc. The whole episode is full of such stories about various guru- shishya relationships like – Arjun- Dronacharya, Parashuram, and Ekalavya among others. There are some poignant moments where a contestant Pankaj Tiwari narrates how he goes to the village doing jajmaani. Another interesting story came from participant Sarthak Kalyani who talks about the relationship between guru – shishya. For instance if a shishya is a yatri, guru is the path, if a shishya is body, guru is aatma… The gurus in this episode deliver ‘gurugyan’ after each performance.
The Sunday episode starts with the judges Rajan- Sajan singing. After all the 11 contestants perform, three are put in tapasya chakra. This is when Bal Narad enters again to tell one more story related to Guru Bhakti. Baal Narad’s stories are extremely entertaining, sweet and riveting. The episode ends with elimination of a Baal Bhakt.
