Big media organisations look to start-ups for innovation: startup showcase applications open


New York/London, February 2012: DCM East and Oppenheimer announce applications open for DCM East Startup Showcase 2012

Unrestricted by process or ‘big business’ limitations, startups are perfectly positioned to make a huge impact on the way media is consumed. Recent partnerships between Zynga and Hasbro, Foursquare and Time Out and Facebook and Warner Bros are clear examples of how established media giants are turning to innovators for a fresh route to market.

The event gives 4 tech startups the chance to pitch to a panel of expert judges and a roomful of senior digital executives, then to receive live feedback on their pitch, concept and goals.

High profile judges from 2011 included Chris Fralic from First Round Capital, Jon Soberg from Blumberg Capital and Daniel Ciporin, Partner at Canaan Partners, and the 2012 panel will be announced in April.
