Billion Highlights Broadband Access Solutions at Japan ET2011

(Taiex: 3027, trading as Billion), a leading Asia Pacific-based provider in communications, Smart Grid and green energy management solutions, today announces its presentation of leading-edge broadband solutions using Broadband Power Line (BPL) and Ethernet over Coax (EoC) technologies at Embedded Technology (ET2011), which will be taking place from November 16th to 18th in Japan.

Billion will partner with Marvell (DS2), a worldwide leader in IC solutions to display its leading-edge networking technologies of Marvell-based BPL (Broadband over Power Line) and EoC (Ethernet over Coax) solutions which are particularly suitable for network installations in harsh environments, including old buildings, vessels and oil-drilling platforms, without costly re-cabling and time.

Among the products showcased by Billion at the three-day trade show are its unique PLC Smart Energy Adapter, the Billion SG2097, which is embedded with the latest Marvell-based broadband PLC technology that utilizes in-home power line loops for 200Mpbs broadband data communications, effectively supporting HDTV applications. In addition to broadband Internet access, the device can be used as a smart power meter enabling home users to manage energy usage of their electrical appliances. This special device can expand the range of applications for distributed generation sectors by integrating with solar and wind inverters.
