Bio3 Research S.r.l. (Milan, Italy) appoints V.I.Pharma as exclusive distributor of the dietary supplement Biocysan™ in Greece.

(Free-Press-Release.com) April 8, 2011 -- MILANO, Italy, March 29, 2011 – Bio3 Research S.r.l. announced today that the company has granted to V.I.Pharma International s.a. (Athens, Greece) the exclusive distributorship for the dietary supplement Biocysan™ in Greece.
The parties expect distribution in Greece to commence in Q2 2011.
Biocysan™ (oral biphasic L-cysteine dietary supplement) acts as a support treatment in haemodialysed patients to prevent severe anemia and to reduce oxidative stress, by restoring levels of the tripeptide glutathione (GSH).

Biocysan™ (pulse release formulation) may also be helpful for individuals suffering anemia (CKD3 – CKD4) due to GSH deficiencies.
Bio3 Research has already obtained a Free Sale Certificate (FSC) for BiocysanTM from the Italian Ministry of Health.
Cysteine is instrumental for synthesis of GSH, restoring it to the level necessary to “produce” erythrocytes in the body, which counteract oxidative stress. Such erythrocytes have a normal half life, as compared to the short half life of those produced with EPO. Thus oral use of cysteine may contribute to reduced risk of severe anemia and improved patient compliance.

Bio3 Research has been granted patents for the oral use of cysteine in haemodialysed patients in Europe, Mexico, Italy; applications are pending in the USA, Canada and Japan.
