BJV.TV Develops Online Video Training Program

Real estate management company Apogee New Dawn of Boynton Beach, FL has contracted BJV.TV to create and implement and online video training program for their growing company. The increasing need for consistent and comprehensive training for associates in seven states prompted Apogee CEO Jeff Staley to turn to video and the internet for logical solutions.

Mr. Stout, an entrepreneur since the age of 21, has in-depth knowledge and understanding of training. He owned and operated a five-store chain of restaurants in Michigan and a retail music store where he hired and trained hundreds of people. Mr. Stout also ran the training development department of an online systems business, was an award-winning contract corporate trainer for the nation’s fourth largest telecom company, and has also served as an HR Director for a large property management company in South Florida.

Mr. Stout and his team mapped out the details of an online system that would automate the process and only engage superiors when there were problems.

“We had to make it very user-friendly and very automated” said Mr. Stout. “The system essentially has a new associate choose their position with the company from a drop-down menu and from that point forward, it’s on auto pilot. The associate is placed in a video queue and begins receiving e-mails with a link that takes them to the video. After the video, they are taken to a test page. The system then congratulates those who pass and move them into the next video queue, while those failing must re-take. If an associate fails three tests or fails to take any tests, superiors are notified. We are also developing functions that will assist the HR Department to ensure reviews are completed in a timely fashion.”

BJV.TV has produced over 15 videos for the system with about seven more to go. The video series has a theme and Stout often plays the role of narrator and moderator in the series. The videos range from 10 to 25-minutes in length and touch on every aspect of the companies most critical training subjects such as fair housing, introduction to Human Resources, Move Out and Move In procedures and much more. The videos are also created to keep the viewer interested by offering music, humor and a quick paced dialog.
