Creating a video series that is funny and informational is no easy challenge, especially when the budget is small and the expectations are high. But when BJV.TV Video Production got the call to produce 60-second videos on the perils of menopause in a whimsical fashion, it was all systems go.

“The client, Body Logic MD, wanted to create a series that would be fun to watch and at the same time, inform viewers not only of the symptoms related to the conditions of Menopause, but that there is help” said BJV.TV CEO Joe Stout. “Body Logic is extremely web savvy and they recognize how invaluable video is to Google searches and page placement. So we had to come up with a concept that would be funny, professional and get the point across in 60-90 seconds.”

Stout and his team developed a concept they called “Street Logic” that is part HBO “Real Sex” and “Jay Walking” from the “Late Show” with Jay Leno.

“In order to pull off scripted funny, you need to hire real actors and have more sophisticated sets or else it just comes across as cheesy. We opted to find the humor from real people, on the street, trying to explain what the symptoms were of various menopause related issues. It worked to perfection as the wide variety of people offered up some very interesting comments that we then edited into a very fast paced, informative and humorous segment” Stout added.

The inaugural shooting produced three segments of “Street Logic” with more scheduled for the near future.

“The key to any successful video is and always will be the story” Stout said. “It’s our job to tell that story in the most effective way possible and use our creativity to make that happen. “Street Logic” is a perfect example of how we combine those elements to give the client what they deserve at a price they can afford.”
