The Tough Questions” - Phase I

The Book Is…

“Black America: Asking Ourselves The Tough Questions – Book One 2010.” By Sonja Cassandra Perdue

(Now Available on Amazon.com - Non-fiction)

"Asking Ourselves The Tough Questions" is a formalized, five part "Q & A" session that began in July 2010 and ends with the last publication in 2015.

This series of books will challenge Black America to collectively engage in a dialogue that will initiate solutions to our collective concerns and issues.

"Asking Ourselves The Tough Questions" is for personal conversations, family dinners, bus rides to work, class study, mornings in the neighborhood coffee shops and those private moments.

Vision for the 2015 publication: "Black America: Our Questions - Answered.”

The Vision Is…

To travel across America and ask “The Tough Questions” and record the experience on a DVD.

The documentation of these travels and engagements with people as they converse on “The Tough Questions” in different vessels and venues will become the DVD version of “Black America: The 2012 Experience.”

The first part of “The 2012 Experience” is the second book. Through our website you will be able to contribute your own questions for addition to this publication. Also, selected answers to the questions in “Book One 2010” will be shared in this volume. The hard copy is expected to be published March 2013.

The vision is not the selling of books.

The vision is the opening up of these conversations across America to all who wish to contribute and finding the answers in the “uncommon faces” in “uncommon places.”

The vision is ask those who are most affected by the problems that plague our communities for the solutions.

The 1st edition will be edited and a new cover will appear for the 2nd edition. (When the 2nd edition is published, the 1st edition will be retired.)

Prior to visiting any organization, town, city or university, I’d like to distribute a minimum of 250 - 500 post cards with a minimum of two of “The Tough Questions” printed on the card. (I’d really like to distribute 1000 and we can do that, depending on the contribution level.) Depending on funding, this will also be supported with the distribution of eBooks and hard copies in that community.

I’d not only like to be able to record the responses but collect research on the social issues and concerns behind each question. This is in preparation for the making of a documentary in the final phase of this project. (That would be the 2015 publication.)

As a writer, my duty is to prepare for “The 2012 Experience” and beyond. There are others who have the expertise to make this happen and I am in great need of their assistance in making this project a success. (i.e. marketing and promo personnel, assistance with the websites, those with filming and editing expertise.)

We will need everything to make this happen, as we are starting this project for scratch!

I hope to create income for as many individuals as I can along the way.

I am going to make this happen.

But, with your donations, it can be a greater benefit to all.

Personally, I don’t answer “The Tough Questions.” I ask them.

And, the question is… “Together, can we make this vision a reality?”

Thank you in advance for your consideration.
