Blooming outstanding new business for former education advisor
Standards are rising in Newcastle thanks to a new business set up by Helen Walker which uses NLP techniques to get results
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 14, 2011 --
It’s been called the secret of success – now a former Education Adviser and OFSTED inspector from Newcastle is making a name for herself teaching it to schools.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the name given to subtle ways in which very successful people differ from those who are just average – and Helen Walker is using her skills to help teachers engage and motivate pupils to enhance their progress.
Helen, from Wylam, worked 27 years as a primary school teacher, a head teacher, OFSTED inspector and a school improvement advisor in Newcastle.

Welcome visit Our WebSite:
http://www.highlightspr.co.uk Now at the helm of her own leadership consultancy Bloom and Grow, she is fast becoming a leading proponent of NLP and recently delivered a highly-lauded session on developing outstanding teaching and learning at the 2011 NLP Conference in London in November.
“Many people have dreams and aspirations which are never fulfilled because life gets in the way. I teach school leaders’ techniques to develop aspiration, resilience and optimism, which are commonly used by the most successful people in our society, to help them overcome hurdles and become strong and resourceful.
“These are great techniques in any walk of life, but in the classroom, whether as a teacher or as a pupil they are invaluable, and can mean the difference between towering success and failure,” she said.
One example where Helen’s been very successful in inspiring success is at Walkergate Primary School, in Newcastle, where adoption of her ideas are beginning to show spectacular results in engaging boys’ writing in Year 6. The boys are thoroughly engaged and motivated to learn, with fantastic behaviour in class.
Helen also runs a not-for-profit company called Change Chimps which can access grants to engage pupils and families to help raise standards in literacy and numeracy standards. In turn, pupils can build aspiration, resilience and optimism and early leadership skills. All profits from sales of Change Chimps materials are ploughed back into projects for children.
Walkergate Primary’s newly appointed Head teacher, Debi Bailey and year six teacher Claire Redpath accompanied Helen to the London conference where her session Building aspiration, resilience and optimism amongst the disengaged received accolades from school professionals across the UK.
“Improving schools, tackling behaviour issues and engaging learners and families are at the top of Education Secretary Michael Gove’s agenda for schools. Our feedback to date suggests our programme really works. Bloom and Grow offers help that works for schools and school clusters and the principles we use are just as applicable in other workplaces too.”
