Bluegreen Promotes Volunteerism through “National Make a Difference Day”

Boca Raton, Fla., - October 22, 2010 – Bluegreen Corporation (NYSE: BXG), a leading provider of Colorful Places to Live and Play, today announced its participation in the 20th annual National Make a Difference Day, on Saturday, October 23, 2010, to promote and encourage volunteerism in the community. USA WEEKEND and HandsOn Network, a business unit of Points of Light Institute, sponsor the annual event, which takes place on the fourth Saturday in October every year. Newman’s Own also supports the event by providing $10,000 donations to charities selected by each of this year’s 10 national honorees.

Bluegreen encourages its employees to take an active part in their community through public service and volunteerism. The company offers paid volunteer days to help bolster this initiative. Bluegreen’s Volunteerism Policy was created to help ensure that associates are given every opportunity to volunteer and contribute to society, even during working hours. They have also created a Charitable Giving Committee, which identifies and maintains relationships with a number of charities including the Florida Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Christel House International, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. These partnerships offer Bluegreen associates even more opportunities to help make a difference.
