It is a surprise that BMW South Africa will attend the Johannesburg International Motor Show, or JIMS, in October. At the show, it will show off the BMW i8 Concept plug-in hybrid, which is the new invention of the German brand and also one of the stars in the next installment of the Mission Impossible blockbuster franchise.

In addition, the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics concept vehicle attracts people's attention. This stunning concept is the latest in its line of "green" supercars and is due to hit markets around the world in 2013. It features a three-cylinder turbo diesel and two electric motors and produces less CO2 than a family hatchback at 99g/km and is more frugal too, achieving 3.76l/100km in combined fuel consumption tests.
