BMW Releases M Power App for iPhone and iPod touch

The M Power app is available for the iPhone and the iTouch and enables you to know your car’s current speed, straight line or lateral acceleration in Gs, elapsed time to a certain speed (e.g. 60 mph), or time to cover a certain distance.

The M Power app uses a built in accelerometer that measure acceleration and thus, deduces speed. It can be downloaded either from BMW’s website or through iTunes. For free.

The M Power Meter defaults to timing a jaunt from 0-30mph, but you can change that by clicking on settings and choosing from several acceleration options up to 124mph or distances ranging from 100 meters to 2,000 meters.
