Following the motto - "TH!NK - time for new standards" - Boppard based machine manufacturer BOMAG is truly setting new standards at bauma 2010.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 15, 2010 --
The company sets new performance standards on soil compaction with the BOMAG BW 332, a 32 tonne roller, the heaviest single drum roller in the world. Shown for the first time as a study model at the 2007 bauma, the concept generated such interest that BOMAG developed the idea to series production. At bauma 2010, the BOMAG will define a new class of single drum roller (especially in terms of cost-cutting capability) with the BW 332 – TH!NK: Economy.
Ahead of the new 2010 road construction season, BOMAG launches its new pivot-steered tandem roller in the 10 t class. Based on the successful BW 174 AP, the new 4th generation features many innovations, including ergonomic cab and operating concepts – TH!NK: Ergonomy. For the first time, BOMAG presents the original field-test machine with hybrid drive alongside the pivot steered BW 174 AP with ASPHALT MANAGER.
And there are innovations on small tandems: BOMAG presents its new generation of light tandem rollers under 1.8 t . The 5th generation continues one of the most successful roller lines in the world, the BW 80 series. A total of six models with an operating weight of 1.4 t – 1.6 t will be on show at bauma with a new design and a powerful proven KUBOTA engine.
New milling machines and finishers
Since BOMAG's entry into the milling and finishing market in 2006, the Boppard based manufacturer has shown new products on an annual basis. The new 300 HP class of milling machines with extra manoeuvrability were introduced at Intermat 2009 along with the redesigned 600 HP class. The company is now using bauma to launch the first compact and ergonomic milling machine designed and built in Boppard, model BM 500/15 – TH!NK: Ergonomy.
The finisher programme has also enjoyed further developments. The BF 300 finisher series will now be shown with wheel-drive versions at bauma. This range offers the most flexible machines on the market, with unbeatable transport widths of 2.50 m including attached extensions and side plates. The stable, easy-to-adjust operator's station provide the best driver comfort. The BF 600 finisher range also features quick-change screed extensions and front windshield with side guards.
BOMAG Light Equipment
30 percent of machines in the BOMAG Light Equipment range at bauma 2010 will be new products! Leading the innovations will be the new BMP 8500 multipurpose compactor, which made its world première at NordBau 2009. This unit is now making its appearance at bauma with the BOMAG Operator Security System (BOSS), a new innovative back-up protection system – TH!NK: Evolution. The tampers BT 60/4 and BT 65/4 have new designs and features. Single direction plates are appearing with two new model ranges for different types of users.
And BOMAG will be showing purpose-built solutions for its overseas markets, uniting attractive price-performance ratios with simple operation and servicing, capable of handling many jobs, even under difficult climatic conditions – TH!NK: Essential.
