On this occasion, ECA is launching an illustrated and extensively documented book published by Emami Chisel Art Pvt Ltd. The catalogue contains pieces of recollection by Shri Sanat Kar, Shri Pranab Ranjan Ray and Shri Manasij Majumder which is going to give the readers an insight of the private person alongwith the kind of artist Bikash Bhattacharjee was.

Specifically, this book is going to be a unique piece as it contains old articles written on him and by him, the invitation cards of various exhibitions spread across a span of 30 years of his artistic career, certificates, press clippings and interviews in exact forms as preserved. The book also surprises one with some rare photographs of Bikash Bhattacharjee in different moods and associations. And most importantly, this Bikash Bhattacharjee Retrospective Exhibition has extensively documented the 69 works that will be displayed within the ECA gallery space and will be on put on view till 9th of September 2009. His works have been presented in four segments divided into five decades and have plates of his oil paintings, water colors, mixed media, collage and some prints which are rare but unique in quality.

The artist has been talked about from his generation onwards for his prominent artistic style and pulsating personality. With this Retrospective Show and the much valued publication in the form of a hard bound book of 111 pages, initiated by Emami Chisel Art in Kolkata will once again reestablish the relevance of this modernist artist.
