Tridelphia, WV - 10/16/2009 - His Work Christian Publishing announces the re-release of "Emma McDougal and the Quest for Father Time" now in soft cover format by Washington, Pennsylvania author Matt Cowden. The author will be having a book signing at Books-A-Million in Tridelphia, WV Sunday, October 18 at 2:00PM where he will also read from his YA novel.
When asked how the Emma McDougal series first started, Cowden replied, "I was researching some ideas for a historical novel, and I bought a new set of the Narnia books for the family. I had loved these books since I was in grade school, and my daughter watched the cartoon version of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and she became fascinated by it. That summer while Izzy, my daughter, played with her toys in her sandbox, I decided to outline the first draft of Emma. Izzy inspired some of the names and creatures, and it became a special experience for us. She loves Emma as much, if not more than I do now."
There are a total of seven books planned for the Emma McDougal series. The second book in the series, "Emma McDougal and the Search for Ol' Saint Nick" will be released in the fall of 2010. Cowden, a stay-at-home dad, is currently working on book three when he is not out promoting his current book.
The heroine of "Emma McDougal and the Quest for Father Time" is preteen Emma McDougal who is tired of her boring town. While the town is preparing for Halloween, Emma is wishing for adventure in her dull life. Emma's wish comes true in more ways than she could ever have imagined. She meets Father Time who selected her as well as two other children, Morton and Eve, to help him save the world from the evil Grissel.
To attend the author’s Reading and Book Signing on Sunday, October 18 at 2:00PM, visit Books-A-Million at 520 Cabela Drive, Tridelphia, WV 26059.
