FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 28, 2011 --
Pumpkins aren’t just for carving at Halloween time, says San Jose fitness expert, Becky Williamson, who will be teaching local residents how to exercise with a pumpkin later this month. Her company, lifeSport Fitness, will hold their 3rd annual “Freaky Fat Loss” Halloween workout for charity on Saturday, October 29th in Willow Glen.
Participants will don Halloween costumes, bring uncarved pumpkins as workout equipment, and exercise “boot camp” style to Halloween themed music. The event is free and open to the public. In order to participate in the workout, participants must bring canned goods, which will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara County.
“We’ll be doing pumpkin squats, pumpkin push ups, pumpkin lunges and many other creative exercises with our pumpkins”, say Williamson, a 27-year veteran of the fitness industry. “We’re combining fun and fitness while we pull together to help others in our community”. Williamson will team up with fellow lifeSport boot camp instructors James Kiel and Sarah King who will help lead the class. Immediately following the workout, there will be a raffle for door prizes, and an award for the best costume.
The “Freaky Fat Loss” Halloween charity workout will take place at St Francis Episcopal Church at 1205 Pine Ave. from 10:00-11:15 am on October 29th. Pre-registration is required. lifeSport Fitness welcomes people of all ages and fitness levels to participate in this novel event. Individuals interested in participating in the free workout can register online at http://bootcampinsanjose.com/boot-camps/halloween-boot-camp-for-charity/. A short video showing highlights from last year’s event can also be seen at this web address.
At last year’s event, participants donated nearly 200 pounds of food for needy San Jose families. lifeSport Fitness has set a goal to collect 300 pounds this year.
