Compensable time conundrums range from high-tech to low-tech issues. Must employees be paid for checking and responding to work email via PDAs? When are donning and doffing activities compensable and when are they not? One common factor is the risk you as an employer face, if you make the wrong call on compensable time.
Wage and hour class action lawsuits are blazing, outpacing all workplace discrimination claims combined. Wage and hour class actions now account for an astounding 84 percent of all employment class-actions filed.

The question of whether travel time, on-call time, lactation breaks, training sessions and donning and doffing count as compensable working time that must be included in the overtime-eligible workweek must be answered correctly.
The Department of Labor (DOL) estimates that 80%+ of employers are out of compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
