Brandon October Releases New Album

The songs on ‘Brandon October’ stories spin out in narratives that resonate with urgency and truth. Brandon’s often stripped-bare vocals give the songs an added resonance.

Thoughtfully and meticulously created, ‘Brandon October’ proves well worth the wait. Throughout much of the album, Brandon seamlessly melds traditional rock elements with captivating rhythms.

For his third studio album, Brandon partnered with producer Robin Walsh (Watershed, Collective Soul), who artfully understood how to combine Brandon’s storytelling style with his modern sensibilities. “Robin and I created something special; we really put our different personalities together to make this record,” Brandon says.

I’ve got songs for people to listen to if they’re going through a break-up, like ‘Two Lonely People’ or ‘I can’t hide from your love,’ or if they want to just forget about work, like ‘Jy’s nie meer alleen nie,’ or they want to dream about the future, like ‘Kom Met My’. I’ve tried hard to make it completely accessible and something people can really relate to no matter what’s going on in their lives.”

“I don’t know if there’s a guy on earth more driven to make something sound the best that it can sound than Robin,” Brandon says. “He is obsessive and only produces songs that he truly connects with, which is really cool.” “He is someone I’ve always really looked up to and have wanted to work with for a long time,” adds Brandon. “When I was trying to decide who should produce the record, I figured why not shoot high? There’s so much passion and power in everything Robin puts to tape, he really helped me get that across.”

“It’s not about writing a song and getting it out of me,” Brandon says. “It’s about playing for people. That’s when I’m truly myself. My goal is for people to hear my music.”

A South African tour in support of the release of Brandon October will be announced in the near future with details and dates forthcoming.
