(Free-Press-Release.com) September 12, 2010 --
Donna Kshir and Sandra Dawn Potter are well-known for their work with Dreamcatchers for Abused Children, but the writing duo has reached a new plateau.
After the release of Extraordinary Confessions of Child Abuse, Kshir and Potter stated they wanted to step outside the box, do something that has never been done before, and create a series of books to help teens in abusive relationships, but looking at abuse from both sides of the table, the victim and the abuser.
True to their word, Kshir and Potter has done it. The writing duo, co-wrote two new books, focusing on teen dating violence; exclusively for teens, as well as parents, caregivers and tweens.
The books are a version of "She Said, He Said." This concept allows the reader to step into the shoes of abuser and the victim, and experience just how domestic violence affects both sides, male and female, of a relationship.
The first book of the series is, Breaking the Silence: One girl's story of surviving teen dating violence. Seventeen-year-old high school student, Nicole Rogers, had everything going for her, but little did she know in just six short months of meeting the boy of her dreams, she would be a victim of teen dating violence.
Nicole hid the violence from her family, but that secret almost cost her, her life.
The second book, I Was A Teen Abuser: One boy's struggle to gain self-control. Seventeen year old high school senior, Jack Roberts had everything going for him. He was popular, an Honor Society inductee, Homecoming King and Captain of the basketball team.
Little did he know, the abuse he witnessed as a child, at the hands of his parents, would dramatically affect the relationship with his girlfriend, Nicole, and he, too, would become an abuser of domestic violence.
Share Jack's journey, in his own words, and follow along as he explains how he broke the cycle of abuse.
The books can be purchased together or individually. However, Kshir stated, "in order to get the full affect of the books, it is important to start with Breaking the Silence. It is the foundation of the story line."
Both books are compelling, and allows the reader to experience firsthand what it feels like to be on either side of teen dating violence. Each book comes complete with a fictional story, dating and safety tips, hot-line numbers and the signs and symptoms of teen dating violence.
Both books are available, September 22, just weeks prior to the Paso Robles Film Festival, where Kshir and Potter will officially launch the official release of the series.
Books can be purchased individually for $7.50 or together for $15.00. Both books are also available as eBooks. For more information or to purchase you book or books, visit;
