Brewer asks to cancel Arizona dispensaries!

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 14, 2011 -- Today Jan Brewer's press aide was quoted saying "his boss is now taking the position that federal law preempts a provision in the law which requires the state to issue permits for about 125 dispensaries where medical marijuana users can legally purchase the drug."

Brewer wants U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton to rule that Arizona cannot accept the applications from potential dispensary owners and operators in Arizona. Regardless of the fact that it is a voter approved initiative and has already been signed into law, she is stopping just short of attempting to close down the whole medical marijuana system due to a portion of the law that suggests 203 will continue in Arizona with or without Brewer's consent or Horne's approval.

`The governor's primary concern is regarding the dispensaries and the involvement of state employees in licensing those facilities," says Mathew Benson, Brewers primary press aide.

If that's truly the case then one would have to ask why is the state still accepting money for cards they don't intend to honor in the near future? With DPS processing the cards for patients and caregivers, Arizona already has multiple government agencies involved with implementing the law, so why stop now?

So much for the "will of the people" or our collective voice, this woman apparently has her own agenda.

If state workers don't want to implement the law due to fear of Federal prosecution, fire them. Arizona has plenty of people looking for work that would happily implement that law for the voters.
