FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 9, 2012 --
Summary A quick survey was performed analysing the consumer perception of the sustainability of selected beverage packaging alternatives. As beverage beer was selected. The entire survey was performed on LinkedIN [1] and more than 300 participants shared their opinions. The results show that the glass-bottle is considered as preferable, i.e. sustainable beverage packaging alternative. PET-bottles rejected as beer packaging solution.
Goal, Scope & Limitations Initial intention of this quick survey was first of all to stimulate consumers to reflect about their own and private behaviour with regard to the consumption of luxury foodstuffs, in this case of beer. What does a consumer consider a sustainable packaging alternative for such a ‘precious’ good such as beer? A second aim was to launch a debate about the sustainability aspects of beverages and to inititate the exchange of opinions. A final goal was to get a quantitative impression of which of the given main packaging alternatives (aluminum can, steel can, glass bottle, PET bottle, other PAK-materials) is considered the preferable alternative, from a consumer perspective.
