Bright Bay Mazda is pleased to announce that the highly anticipated 2013 Mazda CX-5 SUV received the highest fuel economy rating by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for any SUVs sold in America. The 2013 Mazda CX-5 attained a 35 miles per gallon (mpg) rating.
The 2013 Mazda CX-5 is powered by Mazda’s breakthrough SKYACTI® TECHNOLOGY. Mazda was able to design the SKYACTI® TECHNOLOGY to achieve best-in-class fuel economy with non-hybrid technology.
All 2013 Mazda CX-5 models are equipped with the SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine. The amazing engine has the highest compression ratio for a mass produced vehicle, attaining a 13:1 ratio. High compressions rate allows the Mazda engine to grab every big of energy from each gallon of gasoline compared to internal combustion engines.
Mazda engineers also crafted the 2013 Mazda CX-5 to be the lightest compact SUV in its class. The CX-5 is able to deliver 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. With an efficient engine and light body, the 2013 Mazda CX-5 attains great fuel economy without sacrificing power. One of Mazda’s main principles in engineering their vehicles is to never sacrifice performance for efficiency.
Manual and automatic transmissions are available for the 2013 Mazda CX-5. Manual six-speed transmissions with front-wheel drive received 26 city/35 highway/29 combined mpg while the six-speed automatic transmissions with front-wheel drive received 26 city/32 highway/29 combined mpg. Drivers can opt for the all-wheel drive Mazda CX-5 which comes with the six-speed automatic transmission and achieved 25 city/31 highway/28 combined mpg.
The 2013 Mazda CX-5 is set to debut at Bright Bay Mazda in the spring.
