Bright House Networks to expand digital TV offering, adding 10 new channels, increasing Start Over capabilities

Bright House Networks continues to bulk up its digital TV offering this month with plans to add 10 new high- and standard-definition channels and provide more access to its popular Start Over™ feature

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 2, 2010 -- Bright House Networks continues to bulk up its digital TV offering this month with plans to add 10 new high- and standard-definition channels and provide more access to its popular Start Over™ feature on customers’ favorite channels.

The channel additions continue the company’s promise to aggressively add more programming options for customers. Seven of the 10 new channels will be in high definition and available free to customers who subscribe to the corresponding channel tier. Bright House Networks has surpassed its goal to provide 100 HD channels in early 2010 and already this year has added nearly 35 new channels.

The following channels will be added to Bright House Networks programming line-up throughout August:

DIY HD (channel No. 826)
National Geographic Wild HD (channel No. 831)
Fox Soccer HD (channel No. 825)
Game 2 HD (channel No. 905)
Sportsman Channel HD (channel No. 443)
Fox Soccer Plus HD (channel No. 824)
Starz HD (channel No. 276)
Logo (channel No. 156)
Military History Channel (channel No. 159)
Fox Soccer Plus (channel No. 424)

“High-definition programming gives our customers the ultimate viewing experience,” said Bright House Networks Regional Vice President of Operations Karen Broach. “These new channels will offer a variety of opportunities for customers to enjoy their favorite entertainment, educational and sports programming. We continue on our mission to provide the latest and most popular programming options and meet our customers’ needs.”

In August, Bright House Networks will integrate its exclusive Start Over-enhanced TV feature with several popular channels. Start Over allows viewers to restart a live program from the beginning at any time during its scheduled broadcast. When customers tune to a Start Over-enabled show in progress, they are alerted to the feature through an on-screen prompt. By pressing “select” on their remote control, customers can restart the program from its beginning.

Bright House Networks will offer more than 32 channels with Start Over capabilities by the end of August. Start Over is available exclusively to Bright House Networks digital TV customers at no additional cost.
