British Jewellery Valuer earns AIJV's first Senior Membership

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 8, 2011 -- The Association of Independent Jewellery Valuers presented membership certification to AIJV members attending the Scottish Gemmological Association's Conference in May. Members present included one valuer from England, one from Scotland and two from the USA.
AIJV, an organisation dedicated to the Independent Jewellery Valuer, encourages and rewards marketing efforts by members and mutual support amongst its membership.

Shirley D Mitchell DGA, FIRV, collected the Senior Member certification on behalf of her Windsor based jewellery valuation practice. This is the first such certification given by the AIJV and is awarded to any member collecting sufficient Member Status Points during the Association's fiscal year. Points are awarded to members for publicising their own business and those of other members, the AIJV and the profession as a whole, additional points are awarded for practical assistance given to fellow AIJV members.
Shirley Mitchell said in response to her certification, "I joined AIJV because I believe in complete transparency and I am dedicated to providing the best service to my clients and delivering what they need. This promotion to Senior Member confirms that I made the correct decision."

A spokesperson for AIJV said "Shirley is a relentless advocate of her business, the profession and the Association. She sets extremely high standards for her business and is constantly looking for better ways of doing things. Despite all this, she still finds the time and energy to assist other AIJV members and as such, she encapsulates the true ethos of AIJV membership and it comes as no surprise to us that she is the first to achieve Senior Member status"

The other UK Valuer to receive member certification was e-Valuate of Edinburgh, the principal A. Ewen Taylor, DGA, FGA, FIRV stated, "I am extremely glad to be a part of this group of truly independent experts with the ability to call on one or all of them should the need arise. I am proud to receive my membership certification and maintain their ethical stance."

The UK-based AIJV now has members in nine countries. The next presentation of certification will take place in San Diego, California and then later in the year in Cleveland, USA and Vancouver,Canada.
