Building Blocks Art Supplies, Ridgefield CT GOING OUT OF BUSINESS

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 21, 2010 -- Effective June 30th Building Blocks Art Supplies, located at 49 Ethan Allen Hwy in Ridgefield, CT, will be closing its doors.

Paul Gervais, proprietor of Building Blocks Art Supplies and The Paul Gervais Gallery will soon turn his focus entirely on the Gallery portion of his business. Gervais will close up his Route 7 shop on June 3o, but, he says, “I’m not leaving the art end of it. I will stay alive and use other venues to display the art work; broadening my vision on what I can do from an art perspective.” In fact, Gervais is presently featuring the work of local artist Beverly Branch at The Perennial Chef in Ridgefield.

While one door may be closing, Gervais has already opened another. He now calls himself an “art broker”- he is helping artist find appropriate settings to display and ultimately sell their work. “Most artists love what they are doing but don’t want to market themselves,” explains Gervais. In addition, Gervais, who earned his real estate license nearly a decade ago, will soon join forces with Laura Freed (William Pitt Sotheby’s) and plans on incorporating his love and appreciation of art into real estate. “I’d like to get into home staging, including interior decorating from the art end.”

In the mean time, Gervais is liquidating his entire inventory with exception of the art work. “Right now the discounts are as high as 60% and will increase as June 30 approaches,” says Gervais.
