“If you want to be a successful freelance writer, I think it’s important to set a desired income goal. Otherwise, you’ll be too easy on yourself and just make a little money here and there, but not a substantial income.

If you’re just starting your business, set your income goal at $100 a day. That may sound like a lot at the beginning, but it’s do-able for anyone who is serious about making a career as a writer. And it would give you $2,000 in a month if you worked 20 days that month (which means you wouldn’t need to work on the weekends).
