Swiyyah Muhammad was born in 1976 in St. Petersburg, Florida. She received her B.A. degree in psychology from the University of South Florida with a concentration in business administration. She has worked for several mental health facilities in the St. Petersburg and Clearwater areas. Swiyyah's website and subsequent business affiliate Swiyyah Enterprises is dedicated in the loving memory of her older brother Jameel O. Muhammad (aka “Mr. J. Black”) an artist, musician, and potential star who left this earth before his time. Jameel dreamed of stardom and possessed the unique talent and drive to succeed. However, this abruptly ended when he decided to take his own life. This sudden and tragic loss was a severe blow to Swiyyah and her family. Perhaps this personal tragedy is her inspiration for creating Swiyyah Enterprises and her novel “Don’t Call Me Crazy!
