Business Coaching to Help Children’s Charity in Sacramento Increase Revenue by 15% within Six Months

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 30, 2009 -- Sacramento CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) as it is commonly known currently has 4500 children in their system; and only 135 have volunteers to help advocate for them.

According to Executive Director Carol Noreen, as an increasing number of children make their way into foster care, there has been a drop in the number of child advocates volunteering to assist, another reflection of the current economy.

“It costs $1500 to provide a child an advocate for a year,” she said. “We want to make sure the needs of each and every child in our system are met and this is becoming a huge challenge in this economy.” We have to rely on the support of the community more.

In its time of need, help has come to CASA in the form of cause-marketing. When Brad Sugars, the founder and CEO of ActionCOACH recently launched a program to provide pro bono coaching to charities and non-profits worldwide, Business Coach Linda Bigler was excited to enlist Sacramento CASA.

Coaching for a Cause, the campaign will run from October 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. Over 100 coaches are participating in this program globally with the aim of helping this sector together raise at least $2.5 million in funds and donations.

With the aim of helping them increase their profits by at least 15%, Bigler hopes to also fine tune branding and continuity of marketing pieces and modalities. She will also provide team alignment, community awareness as well as increase not only the number of advocates but the number of children served. Bigler’s passion for child advocacy led her to select Sacramento CASA as her pro bono client for Coaching for a Cause.

“I am in the third year of mentoring a child (with another Nonprofit organization -Wonder Inc.) who has been in foster care for over 12 years of her life,” she said. “The CASA volunteer is an advocate for the children in court, school, and other programs and I am a mentor and a constant in her life. I am a role model for her and volunteer to spend about 10 hours a month doing fun things and new adventures to bring good values and decision making skills to her. I love that I am able to help.”

Bigler serves on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento which is the first stop for children who are removed from their homes for abuse or neglect. She also sits on the Americas Regional Board for the Coaching for a Cause initiative.

Noreen hopes to achieve increased donor support, double the number of volunteers as well as get her organization’s name out in the community on a regular basis.

“I am confident Linda will not only help us increase our overall income by 15%, she will also help us get the message across to the larger community on how they can support and help these children in need,” she said.
