Business to Business Speed Networking for the Real Estate Community in Kansas City!

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 15, 2011 -- It's back again - Business to Business Speed Networking for the Real Estate Community in Kansas City!

You have seen the speed dating program on TV shows and movies where the single star gets the opportunity to meet others in their area for a few minutes and at the timing of a bell, move on to the next single. This seems like a very bad way to meet your next spouse, it is ideal for meeting new people for business exchange. Rather than trading phone numbers, you trade business cards.

Once a year, near the winter holidays, Mid-America Association of Real Estate Investors hosts a Networking Opportunity for Real Estate & Business Entrepreneurs to make professional connections in 2 minutes or less.

On Tuesday, December 13th from 6 to 9pm, MAREI's Business to Business, Speed Networking for the Real Estate Business Community is taking place at Career Education Systems, located inside of Ward Parkway Shopping Center on the South East Side, in Kansas City Missouri.

Registration is available on MAREI's calendar of events (http://www.MAREInet.com) or at the door. Members of MAREI attend for no charge and non-members pay $25 at the door or $15 if they pre-register through the calendar of events.

This Business to Business, Speed Networking will allow entrepreneurs, investors, and small business owners the opportunity to present their products, services, company and themselves to at least 25 fellow attendees who are there to do the same. To make sure you get the most out of this event, we have Six Tips to Effective Speed Networking.

1. Do your Homework: You can't just walk in with out preparation and expect anything beneficial. We recommend preparing and practicing a one-minute elevator speech about you and your business. You will more than likely have about 1 to 2 minutes to do your presentation, so make sure you practice. We also recommend to bring at least 50 business cards and possibly flyers or a brochure.

2. Don't Forget Why You Are There: Your main goal is to speak to as many people as possible and exchange information, not go get your next big deal. So you want to tell them a bit about you and your product/service, not sell them right there.

3. Interview Each Other: If each person in the conversation treats the experience as an interview and asks questions to clarify, they will get to know each other better and how best you can help each other in the future.

4. Don't forget to TAKE Notes: We recommend bringing a note pad and pen so you can write down notes and follow up ideas as you go either on the note pad, a flyer or a business card. These notes will come in handy later one, especially as new ideas pop up that neither you nor the person across the table had thought of before coming face to face with you.

5. Follow Up: Now this is where the rubber meets the road. You can have an elevator pitch down cold, have the best flyers in the business, and the coolest business cards. But for this to be a truely rewarding experience you need to follow up with everyone you meet in some way. Add them to your database, connect on facebook, go out for coffee, etc. This is where those notes from #4 above will come in very handy.

6. Have Fun: No one is grading you on how you do. Some people show up to scared to take part or avoid the event all together with a fear of public speaking or something. But you don't have a microphone, you are not getting up in front of a crowd, you can let the other guy go first, and after the first 2 or 3 rounds you WILL find you are having fun.
