‘Buy A Real Christmas Tree’ campaign launched with infographic

November 10, 2011

The “Buy A Real Christmas Tree” campaign has been launched to encourage people to buy a real Christmas tree this year instead of an artificial one.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 10, 2011 -- SendMeAChristmasTree.co.uk, the online Christmas Tree website is backing the campaign, which highlights the benefits of buying a real tree and the negatives of artificial ones.

The campaign has produced an ‘infographic’ which compares real and artificial Christmas trees visually.

Tom Kidger from SendMeAChristmasTree.co.uk said: “We wanted to show people why buying a real Christmas tree is better than getting an artificial one.

“For starters the look and smell of a real tree are something that makes a special Christmas, whereas artificial trees have no smell and do not look the same.

“Then people should consider the environmental factors. Real Christmas trees are recyclable, biodegradable and sustainable. They are environmentally friendly and have a small carbon footprint.

“Artificial trees however are mainly produced in the Far East, so have a large carbon footprint in terms of production and transportation. And they are non-biodegradable, so after you chuck them away they will not breakdown.

“And finally another great reason to buy a real Christmas tree is that they are generally British grown. This means you are supporting the economy and British jobs. Artificial trees are manufactured abroad and travel thousands of miles.”

As well as the infographic, SendMeAChristmasTree.co.uk has also written a guide to “Why buy a real Christmas tree”, which can be found on their website.
