In tough times anyone would wonder how a home based business can be started and even sustain itself. And, if you look at the car manufacturers and car dealers, even more wonder is how do they stay open and how do the sales reps make a commission? The truth is, you as an individual, a private person, can buy and sell cars for profit from anywhere, anytime. You can make big money buying and selling used cars in small towns...and big cities...during roaring economies...and even deep recessions. Even cheap new cars now cost as much as a house used to...and every year the cost of a new cars rises even more. Its no wonder that more and more buyers either can not afford to buy a new car, or they just refuse to buy something that will lose half its value in the first 3 years. The interest used cars is high and today's cars are built better than they were twenty and even tens years ago. It doesn't require special skills to start buying and selling used cars as an individual. States do require a license to be a dealer but nothing says that you as an individual can by a car for private use, let's say a week, and then sell it for a profit. There are many people who are just now beginning to get into this niche market of buying and selling used cars. They are buying cheap and selling at decent profits. They're not getting rich but they are making a good income in a down economy. The people who are just now discovering how they can profit from privately selling used cars are retirees looking to supplement their retirement benefits and social security to college students who need that extra money. Anyone needing to supplement their income or even start a business are getting involved. The cars being bought for resell are not being bought at auctions. They are being bought from private individuals, they are "runners", they may need only very minor repairs or none at all and then are sold for profit. The cars are being sold for a few hundred dollars profit and up to a couple of thousand dollars profit. People who are getting into buying and reselling used cars are turning a handful of cars a month and making a monthy income. Some of the enterprising folks buying used cars are selling the used parts. Instead of selling the whole vehicle, they "part it out" and sell the parts such as gauges, radios, engine parts, etc. The possibilites are endless as what the enterprising people will do during a recession. A lot of people love cars and many consider cars a crucial evil, but the facts are almost everyone need cars. So, whether they get sold as a fast sell to get what they can out of them or buy them for a very basic means of transportation, individuals are getting into the business of buying used cars and use privately for a week or so and sell them for profit. And, they do this over and over.
