FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 4, 2011 -- C-T Watch, Inc (Counterterrorism Watch) held one of its largest classes on counter-terrorism diving at the Port of Los Angeles. The training held by C-T Watch, Inc focuses on maritime anti and counter terrorism explosive threats to major ports and waterways as well as critical infrastructure.

The five day training is a 40 hour program of explosives related dive instruction designed for all public safety and military dive teams who will be, or are currently conducting explosive related dive missions. Teams will be trained to properly respond to, and search for underwater hazardous device’s (UHD’s) and conduct underwater post blast investigations and forensics collection.

Terrorist-planted underwater improvised explosive devices, sea mines, and limpet mines represents some of the most significant maritime security threats to the U.S. military, commercial ships, shippings lanes, ports, waterways, and critical infrastructure according to Roque Wicker, SVP of Operations for C-T Watch, Inc.

Among the agencies attending this last training course were the US Secret Service, US Navy EOD Training and Evaluation Unit One, Royal Canadian Navy Clearance Dive Unit/Fleet Diving Unit Atlantic, San Francisco Police Department Bomb Squad and Marine Unit, Washington County MN Sheriffs Department, Riverside County Sheriffs Department Dive Team, Port of Long Beach Harbor Patrol Commercial Dive Unit, and Oxnard Police and Fire Department Underwater Search and Rescue Team. In total we trained 30 divers in counter-terrorism related diving and explosives related search techniques according to Mr. Wicker.

This training is especially useful in major ports and waterways where the economy is directly related to the continuity of operations in and around the port according to Greg Everett, SVP of Bombing Prevention for C-T Watch, Inc. Contact us at www.ctwatch.us
