C23Management Presents..UPSTAIRS @ THE GARAGE In Association with Bangers and Mash!
'C23Management Presents..' is back bearing Yule-time fun in the shape of a one-off party a mere week before we throw on our stupid jumpers, stuff our faces with turkey and drink too many Snowballs!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 15, 2009 --
To celebrate all things festive, C23 have pulled out the stops to bring the freshest, most raved about, hottest talent in the party scene directly to the newly refurbished venue ‘The Garage’ in Highbury and Islington; LIVE bands, Mash-up DJs and the very best vocalist the 1930’s has to offer!
XFM firm favourite’s The London Punks will be unleashing tracks to the masses from their hugely anticipated album ‘It’s The London Punks’. Already being compared to The Specials, The Clash and The Streets, there is no surprise that the music from this 5 piece ska-punk-dance act has been selling by the bucket load and topping charts on we7.com! Think Basement Jaxx meets Jamie T mixed up with The Ting Tings on testosterone down a dark London alley, and you’re halfway there to conjuring up the experience of seeing The London Punks new LIVE show!
Up next, an act that has stormed this year’s festival circuit with their unique blend of Hip Hop, Swing and Drum and Bass, it’s The Correspondents. Mr Bruce and Chuckles have caused quite a whirlwind since they cut their teeth on their first shows back in 2007. They have since played the likes of Glastonbury, Bestival, Secret Garden Party, Lovebox, Shambala, The Big Chill and hundreds of other festivals and promoters who know a damn good thing when they see it! The Correspondents have one of the most energetic shows you will ever witness with Mr Bruce taking lead on vocals and swinging the audience into next week, right in time for Christmas!
If you’ve got a fan base consisting of DJ Yoda, Nightmares on Wax and Faithless and have found yourself being compared to Mr Scruff and FatBoySlim, you know you’re stepping in the right direction for stardom. That’s exactly the situation our next act, Benji Boko, is in right now. The super talented DJ mixes anything from Sega game tracks to funky Hip Hop, cartoon theme tunes to fairy tales with exactly the same result each and every time; pure mayhem on the dance floor! Nightmares on Wax is such a fan he instantly signed Benji to his own label, ‘Wax on Records’ which saw Boko’s first release ‘Jungle VIP’ reach the Top 20 in the ‘iTunes UK Electronic Chart’! Hotly tipped for big things in 2010, Benji Boko is certainly one to watch out
As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll also be joined by the amazing deck-wrecking duo 2 Bit Thugs with their multi deck show, Islington party favourites Nanna’s at the Disco & founders of Armitage Skanks, dtism Vs Miss T playing some dusty funk & Hip Hop records!
