Winston Churchill’s daughter, Lady Mary Soames is one of the many who have spoken fondly of Café de Paris restaurant London as being one of the many haunts they would enjoy during the 1930’s.
In those years, Café de Paris club was particularly enchanting and an important part of the London nightlife. The décor matched the guests and Café de Paris’ dress code could be described as nothing less than glamorous. Edward, Prince of Wales, Cole Porter and Aga Khan were all regulars.

http://www.forbiddenlondon.com/london-clubs/london-nightclubs/cafe-de-paris/ During the Second World War two 50kg bombs landed on Cafe de Paris killing 80 people including Ken “Snakehips” Johnson, who was performing at the time.
The nightclub was rebuilt and was again at the peak of popularity in the 1950s, 1980s and late 1990s, few London clubs can claim to have half as much history as Café de Paris. The VIP rooms once played host to Frank Sinatra.
Today, Café de Paris nightclub is still a significant part of London’s club scene, a bit has changed since the days of politicians and princes as its regulars. These days Friday nights in Leicester Square see the doors of Café de Paris Bar London swarming with beautiful young people instead of those regal figures of the war time years, which makes us ask does Café de Paris still have the intrigue it had back in the 1930’s?
With filming for popular film, TV and music – recently including The Edge of Love, An Education, How To Lose Friends and Alienate People, The Queen’s Sister, Strictly Come Dancing, How to Look Good Naked and Girls Aloud – regularly taking place at the club we think so.
The London club scene is an unpredictable one; before you know it your favourite club might close its doors forever. Café de Paris on the other hand has managed to remain a permanent fixture throughout the ups and downs of both economy and society.
One cannot deny that Café de Paris London is a fantastic nightclub with a rich history having been a key venue in the London nightlife scene for more than 80 years.
