Ever wondered what it would be like to be kept in an enclosure tied to a chain for your entire life? Gauahar Khan and Nigaar Khan get a taste of Zoo life this week on Khan Sisters as they participate in a PETA photo-shoot to show their support for a cause they strongly believe in humane treatment of animals. The sisters were kept in a cage, tied to chains and even hurt themselves in the hour long photo-shoot. Being animal lovers, the sisters got emotional during the shoot as they come face to face with the harsh treatment meted out to animals at Zoos. "You don't learn anything from looking at a sad animal locked up in a zoo", says Gauahar. "If you want to learn about animals, view them in their natural habitats – visit a nature preserve, or watch a video or read a magazine about them. Don't support the keeping of animals in unnatural confinement." Nigaar added, "Like people, animals need freedom. Instead of spending resources on breeding animals or capturing them in the wild, we should be making use of the resources for protecting the animals' natural habitats or on creating reserves and national parks where they can live in peace.”
