California Webinars Promise New Way to Work and to Put People to Work
Free Agent Source recently announced the launch of an entirely new way to work, and is coupling the launch with a series of free 20-minute web seminars for employees, contractors, and employers.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) July 14, 2010 --
In the wake of a still unsteady economy, with a fairly flat job market, Free Agent Source (FAS) looks to break the stalemate by making it easier to get work and easier to put people to work. For job seekers and contract workers looking for better conditions, better pay, and an easier life, and for companies looking to reap the benefits of a new employment and contracting environment without the hassles, Free Agent Source (FAS) is offering free 20-minuted webinars on a new way to work.
"What's needed," says Steve Pruneau, Free Agent Source founder, "is a completely new program to put people to work, with neither the pain of diminishing a company’s hiring needs, nor the unpleasantness of forcing job seekers and contract workers into the arms of staffing agencies. FAS, says Pruneau, offers job and contract seekers, and the companies looking to hire them that are still cautious in the current climate, an answer that fixes the flaws and risks inherent in both systems.
For contract workers, instead of managing their own accounting, expense reports, corporate formalities, and purchasing their own benefits, we do that for them while providing the traditional perks of standard employment (health care, 401K, etc.). They still get to contract doing the work they love, says Pruneau, but with security for themselves and their families and actual time to themselves at the end of the day to do what they want, like an employee.
For employees, instead of switching benefits whenever they switch jobs, often with downtime or loss of benefits in between, getting paid less than what is often spent on contractors, and continual concern over continuity (getting laid off), employees can obtain lucrative work not available to traditional employees, but with the security that one expects from traditional employment (e.g. full benefits), and without of the hassles of contracting (constant paperwork).
For companies: HR directors, hiring managers, and project teams can hire the best talent without the expense, risk, and concerns of standard employment, and without the expense and hassles of a staffing agency. Instead of workers constantly looking around for permanent employment with benefits, their benefits are provided, and the modest percentage/fee from FAS is transparent to all parties - the worker keeps the lion’s share of the salary, instead of someone running off with half, as with a temp agency.
The way it works is that Job Seekers become employees of Free Agent Source. They are then able to compete not only with standard job-seekers for the same openings, but for contract work positions, but with the security of a full benefits package that goes with them when they change jobs. The contract they use is a corp to corp contract, which strongly benefits both the company and the individual, and yet the traditional paperwork and hassle associated with contracting (accounting, expense report management, maintaining an individual corporate structure) are all handled by Free Agent Source.
Free Agent Source has launched initially in California, but is going nationwide, so anyone is welcome to attend the free webinars. The webinars last 20-minutes (with optional Q&A after), and registration is at http://www.freeagentsource.com/webinar -- You can sign up to be a Free Agent or a Client company (looking to put Free Agents to work) before or after the webinar. Pruneau says the FAS approach is offering companies the keys to a revitalized work and hiring environment, allowing stalled projects to go forward, and at the same time opening up completely new doors for traditional job seekers and eliminating time-wasting hassles for contract professionals. Pruneau says all industries and professions are welcome, from IT to Project Management to Accounting - the FAS approach works regardless of the field of work.
