Registration is underway for Camp KidJam, an innovative concept in children's camps designed by Orange not only for kids, but for their leaders. As a component of the Orange Strategy, Camp KidJam is designed around the principles of their 252 Basics children's curriculum, which teach children to grow in wisdom, faith and friendship. It provides a fun experience for kids, as well as unique workshops to develop adult leaders and elevate the significance of small groups for children.
The theme is œLiving Inside Out. Jesus said, œEveryone who hears my words and puts them into practice is like a wise man. Jesus told many amazing stories, and there's so much to learn from them. This summer, Camp Kid Jam attendees are going to discover the principles of those stories and then put them into practice in our everyday lives.
Leadership training is one thing that sets Camp KidJam apart. While the children attend a series of tracks based on their own interests, training is offered for the staff and volunteers who brought them. Jam sessions are a particular highlight to both kids and leaders because they engage the kids in high-energy worship with some of the best children's worship leaders around! Drama and storytelling is also part of the worship experience. Additionally, small groups provide a time for kids to interact with each other and connect with leaders. In fact, camp is a great springboard for building relationships between kids and leaders.
Camp KidJam will be held on various college campuses and camps during summer 2013: June 11-14 at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL; June 18-21 at Lander University in Greenwood, SC; July 3-6 at Fort Bluff Camp in Dayton, TN; July 8-11 at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN; July 13-16 and July 17-20 at Chowan University in Murfreesboro, NC; July 23-26 and July 27-30 at Texas Women's University in Denton, TX; and August 1-4 at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. Some camps will sell out, so early registration is encouraged. Prices will increase on February 1, 2013.
