Brian was an exceptional athlete with the abilities and a dream of playing professional basketball. An unfortunate automobile accident in May of 2000 rendered that goal unattainable. Brian was thrown from his Jeep and landed on his neck, severing a vertebra and leaving him without the use of most of his body. After a lengthy treatment and exhaustive rehabilitation at Aultman Hospital, he miraculously regained partial use of his limbs. Then, he set out to climb “mountains”. First figuratively but now he has plans to do it literally.

The law firm of Slater & Zurz helped Brian conquer one of his first “mountains”, starting life over on radically different terms. Now 10 years later, Brian is a husband, a father and employed at Babcock & Wilcox in Copley, Ohio. You might say Brian has reached the pinnacle of life given the hurdles he has overcome and what he has accomplished. However, Brian has his sights set on climbing yet another mountain. This time the mountain is real.

In an effort to help local and national non-profit organizations Love Canton and Compassion International raise money to battle poverty, Brian will travel to Peru in June of this year to scale Machu Picchu. This will be the toughest thing I’ve ever attempted, admits Brian. With a positive attitude and a will to succeed, anyone can accomplish anything.
If you would like to learn more about Brian and his upcoming trip to Peru, he welcomes your emails at zigbrian@gmail.com or telephone calls at 330-834-9437.
