Canadian Hero Fund UBC Chapter to host an intimate talk with the Canadian Forces’ Brigadier General Richard Giguere on Canada’s changing role in Afghanistan
Today at 1pm PST The Canadian Hero Fund’s University of British Columbia Chapter will host an intimate discussion with Brigadier General Richard Giguere about Canada's changing role in Afghanistan.

Founded in 2009, the Canadian Hero Fund (http://www.herofund.ca) is a registered charity dedicated to assisting military personnel and their families. With a focus on civilian, grassroots efforts, the initial goal of the Canadian Hero Fund is to provide post-secondary scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen soldiers.
The motto “Keeping Their Dreams Alive” stands for the dreams of the families and children that are sustained through Canadian Hero Fund support programs, as well as the dreams of fallen soldiers who wanted more for future generations.

Brigadier General Richard Giguere, Commander of Land Forces Quebec Area and Joint Task Force East (assumed 05 August, 2011); Dr. Allan Craigie, post-doctoral fellow at UBC’s political science department; Canadian Hero Fund’s UBC Executive members Alex Van Seters, and Alexandra Mitchell.
What:
An intimate discussion amongst students and faculty of UBC, on Canada’s changing role in Afghanistan.
