Canadian Pharmacies Anticipate Cure for Type 1 Diabetes with Breakthrough Discovery
Type I diabetes does not have a cure, but researchers have recently identified factors that determine the process of beta cell regeneration.

Juvenile diabetes or type 1 diabetes does not have a cure, but researchers have now been able to identify exact signals stimulating growth of beta cells in the pancreas thereby initiating the process of producing insulin in sufficient quantity to break down sugar in the blood. Canadian pharmacies feel there is hope for a cure to be found in people suffering from insulin-dependent type 1 diabetes.
The breakthrough discovery was a result of a multi-year study conducted by researchers from Jerusalem’s Institute for Medical Research Israel-Canada, Hadassah University Medical Center, and the diabetes section of Roche Pharmaceuticals. Glucose levels in the blood cannot be controlled, if beta cells are unable to regenerate. Researchers found as glucose levels increase in the blood, beta cells sense the increase and begin the process of regenerating beta cells.
Patients suffering from type 1 diabetes find their immune system destroying insulin-producing beta cells mistaking them for foreign cells and therefore slowly destroy the capacity of beta cells to reproduce and generate insulin. The new discovery has identified how beta cells sense a high level of glucose to initiate the process of regeneration.
Glucose has to be absorbed into the bloodstream and converted into energy. Without sufficient quantity of insulin, this is not possible. Energy levels drop as glucose levels increase in the blood. Patients suffering from type I diabetes buy Humulin 70/30 and other injections from Canadian pharmacies to sustain insulin levels several times a day. The importance of the study is realized, as potential to develop methods of increasing replication of beta cells is now possible.
A genetic system was used to destroy 80% insulin-producing cells in adult mice, thereby making them diabetic. Comparison was then made between diabetic mice and control mice to find the effect of elevated blood sugar levels. Mice infected with diabetes produced more beta cells than normal mice, leading to the conclusion glucose played a big part in regeneration. Research studies also revealed glucokinase was a key enzyme sensing glucose levels and initiating the process of beta cell regeneration.
The process of regeneration depended on levels of glucokinase. It was an important finding, which will lead to the development of new drugs able to modulate glucokinase in ways that help balance the application of beta cells by improving steps taken on the pathway of sensing glucose entering the bloodstream. Also, more beta cells were regenerated when glucose levels increased in the blood.
With the necessary knowledge gained through search, a mechanism has to be found now that prevents the human immune system from destroying beta cells. Though further research is required, a treatment could be discovered leading to complete cure of type 1 diabetes in the near future.
Research on mice is successful, but Canadian pharmacies believe further research is required to establish the same success in humans. Until several tests are conducted, research cannot be extended into clinical trials for the development of potent drugs or therapies. However, the elaborate manner in which tests were completed in mice makes researchers believe a new drug for the cure of type 1 diabetes is not far from becoming a reality.
