He was the Main Event 4 times during his career. All 22 fights were held at the Jackie Gleason Auditorium, Miami Beach Convention Center or the National Guard Armory on NW 7th Ave in Allapattah. He has been recognized by the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1970 and is included in their Boxing Encyclopedia.

For the past 5 years he has been working Normandy Gym's corner sharing his wealth of boxing knowledge with the Pro's that train there. Porter is always available to wrap a students hands prior to class. He also teaches the fundamentals of boxing to young aspiring boxers age 8-14. His caring nature and willingness to go the extra mile has earned Mr . Rolle the continued honor and respect he deserves.

Two months ago, during a routine Doctor's appointment, Porter was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. He travels to North Shore Hospital daily to get radiation therapy. Depending on his progress he may need Chemo-therapy and possibly surgery later on. As you are aware there are many costs involved that are not covered by Medicare and/or insurance.
