Candidate for State Representative of Eaton County Completes 427 Mile Jobs Walk Across County
– Bob Robinson can’t walk away from Mid-Michigan’s unemployment problems so he has trekked from one corner of Eaton County to the other to hear about the problem first-hand from citizens.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) July 7, 2010 --
As a candidate for State Representative of District 71 in Eaton County, Robinson embarked on a “Jobs Walk” last July, walking across Eaton County and talking about job creation with the citizens he hopes to serve. After walking more than 427 miles, Robinson has exceeded his original goal by 285 miles.
On July 15th Robinson will complete his “Jobs Walk” at Grand Woods Park, in Delta Township.
“I originally planned walking 100 miles but I started stopping at homes and knocking on doors, chatting with folks about our jobs problem. It soon became apparent that to address the concerns of citizens, it was going to take much more,” said Robinson.
With trails blazed through Bellevue, Charlotte, Delta Township, Grand Ledge, Lansing, Mulliken, Potterville, Olivet, Sunfield, and Vermontville, Robinson has heard stories from corporate America, small business owners, unemployed workers, and retired people, all who have expressed the need for a breath of fresh new air in Lansing, diversity in the economy, and job creation. Robinson has already taken action on his mission for job creation, and called upon legislators in Lansing to adopt a Bio-Preferred Products Policy for Michigan.
“A Bio-Preferred Products Policy could create 10,000 – 15,000 new jobs for Eaton County and tens of thousands more throughout the state. Potential job growth areas include healthcare products, pharmaceuticals, renewable plastics, building materials, and alternative fuels,” he says.
Bob will cross the finish line of his year-long Jobs Walk at 4: 00 p.m.at the open air pavilion in Grand Woods Park, located at 4500 W Willow Highway in Lansing. After 427miles of listening to concerns and discussing the future of Mid-Michigan, Bob will rally his supporters before the upcoming Primary Election on August 3rd. Music and entertainment will be provided by Jeff Wilmore of Grand Ledge. Local citizens and voters who would like to meet the candidate are encouraged to attend the family friendly event.
