Rap artist Cannonboi signs with Australian label Wolf Entertainment

"Meeting Cannonboi on my recent trip to the US in person immediately convinced me that he is a special guy. I decided then and there to sign him to Wolf Entertainment, even before hearing his music. His determination and focus are very special, he is a great young man. I also felt his commitment and loyalty are outstanding since he drove 3 hours just to meet me. Now that I have heard his music I am even more excited to be working with him, as his music and his way of Rapping are very special," says Hellmut Wolf, director of Australia label Wolf Entertainment.

Dontavious Lamar Cannon born December 4, 1983 better known by his stage name Cannonboi is a well-known American hip hop artist, songwriter, and actor. He embarked on his career with his childhood friends and rappers in southern hip hop group Fort gangsters. He is also the founder and co- chief executive officer (CEO) of Big Bank Records. In 1999 Cannon wrote and recorded his first single "Get out the Hood" that gave him a worldwide buzz immediately. He sold over 10, 000 copies going from city to city out the trunk of his car. After that he gained on industry relationships with all the hottest DJ's and started meeting all the right people. On September 25, 2000 only being age 16, Cannon had his first child "Tranaiya Bankston". It was then he realized he had a responsibility and it was time to step his game up. Cannon tried and tried to find a legit job, but no- one would hire him. That's when he turned to the streets selling Narcotics. He ran the streets of Southwest Georgia four years straight without any losses. That's when people started calling him Mr. Southwest. Everything was going perfect with his career. However, in 2006 all that came to a standstill when he was arrested on cocaine charges and sentenced to serve 90 days in The Detention Center and 10 years on probation. Months later a couple of local friends opened up one of the biggest night club ever to hit Albany G.A. "V12". This is where Cannon got to open up for major Artists such as Lil Wayne, T.I., Gucci mane, and Rick Ross. He also has worked with Field mob, Jody Breeze, and Traptraks producer/ Artist Ole E. In 2008 Club V12 was closed down due to drug related issues unknown by the artist. He later linked up with the Regional Miami artist Bizzle AKA Mr. Lipbitting Animal who was recently shot and killed outside his place of business. Cannon said in his recent interview Bizzle was an inspirational speaking speaker, and plays a major part of his success today. In 2012 while still serving his 10 year probation sentence, Cannon was at a relative home studio, when police busted in and arrested him for aiding and bedding a fugitive. He plead no content to the charge and after serving 3 months in Miller County Jail charges was dropped and he was released. The same week he was released Patuala drug task force, probation officers and Fort Gaines Police Department came back at Cannon mad, because the charges had been dropped. They did a random search of his home. After hours of searching and not finding anything in his possession, they planted a roach of Majuanna and charged him with it. He then served three more months in Miller County before charges was dropped, he was released again. After a full year of harassment and being wrongfully accused Cannon has managed to stay focused on his career. Shortly after being released Cannonboi linked up worldwide DJ Island boi Dre and let him heard what he had prepared while he was incarcerated, they quickly collaborated and dropped his first mixtape, "Now or Never". Six month later they dropped, "Message to the Street". Since his troublesome early years, Cannon has walked a straight line and is focusing mainly on what his career holds. In 2012 unexpectly, Cannon had to more kids, London Cannon and Bryson Bullock. Now with 3 kids that looks up to him highly, and having the entire state of Georgia behind him, he is on a mission to rise to the top and remain there. On February 6, 2013 Cannonboi signed to Wolf Entertainment and is now working on the release of his upcoming single and Video" Thinking Of You".
