Elected a Fellow to Texas Bar Foundation

Fort Worth, Texas (Nov. 12, 2010) – Cantey Hanger attorney Katie Lackey has been elected a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a charitable organization whose mission is “advancing justice in Texas……by providing opportunities to support the rule of law in Texas.”

Since its inception in 1965, the foundation has contributed more than $10 million dollars to:
• Educate the public about its rights and responsibilities under the law;
• Provide legal advice to the poor; and
• Help those who turn to the legal system for protection.
“It is an honor to be selected by my peers to join such an impressive group of Texas attorneys,” Lackey said. “I look forward to assisting the Foundation with its contributions to the many worthy recipients throughout the state.”

New Fellows are a select few elected from membership of the State Bar of Texas. Selection is based on an outstanding record in the legal profession as well as a commitment to support the community.
The Texas Bar Foundation supports community efforts that include direct legal services, youth advocacy and education programs, mentoring projects, major equipment purchases and more.
