Capstone Consultants helps Occasio Host Community Arts Showcase.

(Free-Press-Release.com) June 23, 2011 -- A Community Arts Showcase took place at a beautiful uptown location generously donated by Capstone Consultants at 201 W. Morehead St., Suite 200. “Arts Education is one place we need to have a huge impact on the next generation. It will raise test scores, keep teens progressing socially, academically and personally, and it will inspire a more cultured city” said CEO of Capstone Consultants Brandon West. Occasio featured more than a dozen Charlotte artists specializing in variety of mediums, including painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, and jewelry.

Occasio isn't just about educating the local artists, its also about helping emerging artists get their work out there. The exciting part about these artists is they donated 30% or more of their profits back to Occasio, to fund the programs for the entire summer.

“I was raised in New England where arts education inspired me and the people around me. I moved down here ten years ago and I've seen funding slashed in the Schools, the Parks and Recreation Department and the first thing the schools cut, is art.” Executive Director Mr. Hogan said. “As a community we have an obligation to the next generation to provide them with as much opportunity to see how arts education can inspire, educate and equip people with the confidence and character to develop a stronger culture in this emerging city."
