The author's most recent book to date is a 6 x 9 casebound edition in the Native American history category and is available worldwide on book retailer websites such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The thrilling adventure of America’s frontier days was often punctuated by bloody, terrifying conflict between determined settlers and Indians who would brutally defend the territory that was rightfully theirs. One of the most tragic events in Texas history was the Comanche and Kiowa Indian attack and massacre at Fort Parker in May of 1836. Many inhabitants of the fort were slaughtered, scalped, and horribly mutilated. Some were chased into the woods or ran away to escape.

But five people were taken captive, including nine-year-old Cynthia Ann Parker, and her five-year-old brother John. Despite the violence between settlers and Indians, it was often the case that Indians would adopt children taken captive and raise them as valued members of the tribe. Comanche Dawn is the true story of Cynthia Ann Parker, adopted by the Comanche, the Lords of the Southern Plains.

Readers can saddle up and ride into the proud history of the tribe, their raids on Texas settlements, their fierce battles with the United States Cavalry and become immersed in the remarkable life of a little Texas girl who would grow up to marry Comanche Chief Peta Nocona, and whose son, Quanah, would become a legendary Comanche chief.

127 pages in length, Comanche Dawn: Destination Texas Frontier 1836 is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the Native American history category. With U.S. wholesale distribution through Ingram and Baker & Taylor, and pervasive online availability through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and elsewhere, Comanche Dawn meets consumer demand through both retail and library markets with a suggested retail price of $22.95.

Additionally, Comanche Dawn can be ordered by retailers or wholesalers for the maximum trade discount price set by the author in quantities of ten or more from the Outskirts Press Direct bookstore at www.outskirtspress.com/bookstore.
