Car Manufacturers Inclined Towards Electric Cars

But it seems electric cars are winning the race as of now. Several giants in the automotive business shelved plans of building hydrogen cars. Instead they are focusing on increasing production of electric cars.

Ford Motor Company has already stated that it has dropped plans of developing hydrogen cars and it plans to increase the volume of electric cars. Similarly, Renault and General Motors have reduced their research and development efforts for hydrogen cars. General Motors says, “The cost of building hydrogen cars is too high and it will take lot of time before these vehicles are commercialized.”

The cost of a Hydrogen car is ten times greater than that of an electric car and is obviously not for common man. However, it is believed that hydrogen cars produce zero emissions and is the most environment friendly car. That’s the reason efforts are on to produce an economical hydrogen car that serves the purpose for everyone. Toyota recently announced that it will be developing a hydrogen car priced around $50,000.

Both electric car and hydrogen car have been designed to reduce environmental pollution. But for the time being electric cars are the most favored cars from the environmental point of view. The comparative lower price is the reason for success of electric cars.
