“Carat” brings the industry’s finest jewelry retailers, designers and manufacturers together at Tendence

Tendence showcases a spectacular collection of artisan and fine jewelry, where retailers are treated to entertaining events, design inspiration, networking, and product debuts from Aug 26-30, 2011

(Free-Press-Release.com) June 3, 2011 -- Tendence sets a new industry standard with extraordinary jewelry designs featured in the Carat section of Hall 9.3, where more than 250 exhibitors will be presenting their latest jewelry collections and innovations, as well as offering buyers an outlook of trends for the upcoming season.

Carat stages a dazzling array of world-class jewelry exhibits. Key players include A. Ruppenthal KG, Campur, Pierre Junod and Rainer Luppold in the field of fine jewelry, as well as Alraune Lapidaries, Bernd Wolf, Dazzl and SENCE Copenhagen for artisan jewelry. Tendence will host the ‘Carat on Stage!’ lecture program, the ‘Jewellery – Fair for All’ competition organized by the FBZ Ahlen, the ‘Next’ promotional area of young trendsetting European designers, and the ‘Form’ awards ceremony presented by Bundesverband Kunsthandwerk (the German Arts & Handcrafted Association).

“The Carat product group has gone on growing in recent years and we have constantly extended the programme around jewelry and adapted it to the target groups”, explains Nicolette Naumann, Vice President, Tendence.

‘Carat on Stage!’

In Hall 9.3 Stand C82 from Friday, August 26th to Tuesday, August 30th, top speakers, such as image trainer Imme Vogelsang, Oliver Schmid, CEO of the politur trend agency, and Nora Claus, lecturer at the Jewellers Academy (Tagesakademie für Juweliere), will deliver information on jewelry trends, marketing strategies, customer loyalty, and manufacturing methods in the jewelry industry.

‘Jewellery – Fair for All’ Competition
On Sunday, August 28th, ‘Carat on Stage’ will provide the setting for the European Academy for Jewellers, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths (Europäische Akademie FBZ), Ahlen, to present its awards to the winners of its design competition, which focuses on works made using fairly produced and traded gems and materials. Also to be found in Hall 9.3 Stand B72 is the ‘Jewellery: Fair for All’ exhibition.

‘Next’ and ‘Talents’

Thirty five up-and-coming young designers from 15 countries will be showcasing their exhibits in the Product and Furniture Design section in Galleria 0, and Personal Accessories and Jewelry in Hall 9.3 Stand A90.

“Every year we are amazed yet again by the creativity and wealth of ideas shown by the young up-and-coming designers”, says Nicolette Naumann. “This year, too, there are lots of innovations and new technical products on show, and there is something for every taste, from modern to traditional, from natural to technical.”

‘Form’ Award Ceremonies

The German Arts & Handcrafted Association (Bundesverband Kunsthandwerk) will be organizing the ‘Form’ competition, which awards prizes to products that show developments and innovations in the field of high-quality industrial and crafted products. The most innovative products will be exhibited in the ‘Form’ special area in Hall 9.2 Stand B40. Works that take an especially creative approach or have been executed to an exceptionally high standard have good chances of winning the Hessian State Award for German Arts & Crafts. The award presentation will be held on Monday 29 August.

Another highlight is the ‘Philipp-BeckerAreal’ in Hall 9.3 Stand E68, an exclusive meeting point for top-class jewelry. Along with gem expert Fritz M. G. Wilshaus, other top names among the suppliers will present striking creations and unique pieces of jewelry.

Tendence is traditionally the largest and most important platform for trends and orders to be held in the second half of the year. Tendence is divided into two separate product ranges: Giving and Living. Whilst Giving displays the whole world of creative gift ideas, Living is the platform for the home, for decorations and for furnishings. From August 26-30, 2011, Tendence presents the latest trends for the coming autumn / winter season and provides a preview of new products for the spring and summer season of the following year.
