Caribbean Superstars and Contemporary Poet to Perform at the NY Times Center in Support of Caribbean Youth
The Calabash Consortium - U.S. and Caribbean Non-Profit - Launches in the Big Apple with Performances by Caribbean Superstars and Contemporary Poet

Caribbean Superstars Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons and Kevin Lyttle will attend the Calabash Consortium's official U.S. launch and benefit titled "The Sailing" on Friday May 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. to be held at the illustrious Times Center in New York. Fay-Ann Lyons and Kevin Lyttle are carded to perform and joining them are contemporary Poet and author of "Stealing Peace," Jewel Allison and Soul/Pop artiste Ano Okera.

"We are deeply honored to have Ano Okera, Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons, Kevin Lyttle and Jewel Allison support our benevolent endeavor - their support adds tremendously to the event's success," noted Cooper.
Over 300 guests are expected to attend "The Sailing", which will include Cocktails (open bar), entertainment, fine cuisine and an opportunity to give back to the Caribbean. Joining the Caribbean Superstars are other cultural and international celebrities. Invited celebrities include Rihanna, John Legend, Wyclef Jean, Melanie Fiona, Jasmine Sullivan, Shontelle, Foxy Brown, Nia Long and Heather Headly. During the evening patrons will have an opportunity to win prizes and participate in the organization's silent auction, and depart with a special gift. The Sailing is geared towards attracting people living in the New York Tri-State area connected to or interested in the Caribbean.
The Sailing is also supported by 10 Caribbean countries through their Consulate Generals. Sponsors include the Standard Hotel, The Caribbean Tourism Organization, Monroe College, The Basia Show, MACO Caribbean Living Magazine, DDB Public Relations and others.
With a large mandate ahead, the Calabash Consortium is committed to advancing the development of Caribbean youth and communities and seeks to mobilize resources and collective action aimed at forging a healthy and productive future for Caribbean people.
