Just 10 days before Christmas 2008, the website at www.carolinescakes.com, which had remained an informational page for many years, went live accepting orders to ship cakes across the United States. “By the time the site was live, and I was able to run a test order, we already had orders. It had only been live about two minutes!” says Kelly Breen, the company Webmaster. By December 22nd, the website had seen 1,000s of orders. “Orders have been coming in at an increasing rate ever since.”
